Legacy Lions Leave It on the Field

On Saturday, our Legacy Lions football team played the Saints. As you may know, the Saints are an extremely good team and we didn’t win, but our team played hard and came out with positive attitudes.

One of the most memorable players was Kingston Mitchell, number 11. He put all his effort into the game and played many different positions.

Another player was Adrian Gonzales, number 9. Despite being hurt, he put his all into the game and played multiple positions throughout. Multiple people, including Ref Watiks and Coach Williams himself named Gonzales as a player that they would mention if they were writing on the game.

However, in Gonzales’ opinion, Caden Viss, number 2, was one of the most encouraging players. He also gave great constructive criticism.

Speaking of constructive criticism, some of the things that Legacy could improve on, according to its own players, are defense and experience. We have a lot of freshmen and sophomores on our team, most of which haven’t played before. Therefore, our line hasn’t had a chance to learn everything it needs to do and that affects the whole team.

Things that the Lions did well this game were “giving it their all” according to Jacob Love, number 55, and having good, encouraging attitudes according to Ref Watiks and Coach Williams. 

Just because we lose against one of the best teams in the league doesn’t mean that we’ll never win. Like Tyler Nott, number 23, said, “The game was tough, but as long as everybody gave 100%, we’re the winners.”
